Spicy masala beef and spaghetti

NABELA'S CLASSIC FUSION DISH THAT ADDS SPICE, FLAVOR AND HEAT TO TRADITIONAL SPAGHETTI.

Serves:

Cook Time:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound of spaghetti noodles

  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil (for pasta water)

  • ½ teaspoon of salt (for pasta water)

  • ½ teaspoon of pepper (for pasta water)

  • 2 pounds of ground beef

  • ½ tablespoon of chili powder

  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder

  • ½ tablespoon of chili flakes

  • ½ tablespoon of salt (adjust per taste)

  • ½ tablespoon of pepper (adjust per taste)

  • 1 medium diced onion

  • 2 tablespoons of diced garlic

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

  • 1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce (Rao’s Homemade Tomato Basil Sauce is a staple in my home!)

  • 1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (optional, but highly recommended)

INSTRUCTIONS:

⋄ Step 1:

Using a large pot, add water over high heat (to boil the spaghetti noodles). Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil, ½ teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of pepper (to season the spaghetti noodles), then add the 1 pound spaghetti noodles to the water. Boil spaghetti noodles for about 10 minutes (or till noodles are cooked to your liking). Drain and spin your pasta with olive oil so the noodles don't stick together. Keep noodles aside until ready to combine with beef and sauce.

⋄ Step 2:

Using a mixing bowl, add 2 pounds of ground beef,  ½ tablespoon of chili powder, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, ½ tablespoon of chili flakes, ½ tablespoon of salt, and ½ tablespoon of pepper. Evenly mix and combine the spices with the beef.

⋄ Step 3:

Using a large pan, add 1 medium diced onion, 2 tablespoons of diced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Gently mix, and cook for about one minute (or till fragrant).

Next add the seasoned ground beef to the large pan. Cook for about 15 minutes (or till beef is browned and cooked through), gently stirring the beef occasionally.

⋄ Step 4:

Grab an additional pan to heat your pasta sauce. You can make your own homemade pasta sauce, or pick up your favorite sauce from the store to make things easy! Rao’s Homemade Tomato Basil Sauce is a staple in my home.

Combine the pasta sauce and seasoned beef with your pasta and mix for delicious, easy, spicy masala spaghetti.

Serve with freshly grated parmesan for an extra touch!
